God Is In Control

Isaiah 46:9-11

"Remember the former things long past, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is no one like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things which have not been done, saying, 'My purpose will be established, and I will accomplish all My good pleasure'; calling a bird of prey from the east, the man of My purpose from a far country.
Truly I have spoken; truly I will bring it to pass. I have planned it, surely I will do it.”

We live in a world that seems upside down. People saying right is wrong and wrong is right. From the vantage point of the individual, it seems like there is chaos. From where we stand, it seems like there is no one in charge. But we serve a living and true God. One who knows the end from the beginning and will make all His plans come to pass. Think for just a moment on what the Lord is saying here. He is God and there is no other, He is God and there are none like Him. Far too often we think that man is in control; that somehow we are just like He is. But He is God and there is none like Him.

“Declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things which have not been done.” Not only is God in control, but He knows everything that has happened and will happen, and nothing is beyond his reach. That includes all of us. Some are facing health issues. Some have struggles in their family. Others are wondering if tomorrow they will have a job… and all of these things from our vantage point seem insurmountable. But He is God and there is no other… He is God and there is none like Him. Who declares the end from the beginning and from ancient times things that have not yet been done. This same God, who knows it all is holding you in His hands. This same God who declares history before it is history sees you as precious and esteemed. John 1:12 tells us, “But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” When we accept Jesus as our savior, we become God’s children, and when you are a child of the king, He will never leave you nor forsake you.

This world may seem out of control, but our God is in complete control. If you are feeling uneasy today, call out to the God who declares the end from the beginning. When our eyes are on our circumstances or on our surroundings, we get lost, but we find strength when we are “fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. For the joy set before Him He endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Heb. 12:2)
